ENVIRONMENT

With increasing societal pressures for domestically produced and environmentally friendly energy solutions, natural gas production represents a way to advance energy independence, as it produces lower CO2 emissions than any other hydrocarbon. Traditional methods of producing natural gas, especially new horizontal wells requiring multiple hydraulic fracturing treatments, may create an environmental concern as they use millions of gallons of fresh water. Hydraulic fracturing is also under increased scrutiny and regulatory review due to its potential impact on aquifers, and its use could be diminished, resulting in lower natural gas production. By conserving water and producing natural gas in a clean and sustainable way, Luca's technology alleviates many of the issues surrounding hydraulic fracturing, minimizes the necessity for new drilling by the company, and has minimal impact on natural resources, including ground water.
